Spending a lazy afternoon in bed catching up with some magazines & browsing eBay for a second hand bicycle to do up over the summer.

Boots & Trench: New Look
My dog was being a clingy bugger and wouldn't leave me alone so I had to include her in the picture taking festivities. This weather is seriously doing my head in, it's almost June and there was FROST on the ground yesterday. I brought this mac yesterday to get me through the transistion period and seriously abused my student discount around Oxford St. using the logic that I won't be a student in a month so I might as well spend everything I have for the reason of getting 10% off. You can prehaps see why I failed maths. I only have 4 days of lectures left then I am free as a bird, I've got a nice little internship waiting for me, travel oppourtunities and 365 days to learn how to use the washing machine without asking mum. perfect.

Assortement of Braclets, H&M teal&silver ring, vintage silver ring, Channel nail varnish in Jade, H&M maternity dress (I just thought it was oversized...)

So it's the bottom half of an outfit post...I'm getting there right?! The battery of my camera remote ran out and using self timer and leaping across the patio for a full outfit shot was far too much exersise to commit to before 9am. Tommorow you shall see my top half.
I'm probably closer to the people who sell my coffee than I am my own parents. Obviously I'm joking, I think. Nothing better than slipping on oversized shades to hide last nights sins and popping out for a trashy magzzine and a hot coffee made by someone else. I'm gradually trying to move my knee high socks down a little futher each day, exposing my casper white legs to the world, sunshine is such a hassle! I'm lightening up on my usually black nail varnish and going channel jade for the spring, along with wearing silver as a replacement for my usually gold encrusted hands. All I have to do now is tear myself apart from black clothing...

These pictures will sum up my day. Lazy Sundays are for indulgent hearty breakfasts, reading travel books, British Vogue, listening to radio 2 and booking tickets on the eurostar.

Jumper & Ring, H&M. Shoes: absolutelynoidea.

I am LOUSY I know. I've been hopping around the country crazily shoving neros espresso down my throat and jumping on trains with an overnight bag and smudged eyes. I've been going to places which tend to have no wifi, and I've realised having an internet connection is a pretty vital part of running a blog. I've also actually left half of my clothes dotted around the place (hense the incredibly lacking outfit post) & I'm pretty sure I left a shoe at Kings Cross station (yes just one of them, brogue style, if you see it.) So I'm waiting upon returned shoes, bin bags of clothes, a working SLR & prehaps the function of my brain, then I shall be back to my normal state and not be posting half-assed posts like this.
ps. I just joined the rest of the world and got a forumspring. It's a little bare at the moment so ask away chicos. Forumspring

Want some summer dreaming?

Monday, 5 April 2010

Wearing: H&M hat & scalf, vintage cardigans & t-shirts & New Look boots.

I'm not being pretentious posing with a Starbucks, honest. I was over the moon at finally being able to eat and drink again after a nasty stomach bug that has completely thrown everything sideways (including the up-keep of this blog- apologies). After enviously watching children munch down their eggs over the weekend, I decided it was high time I painted my lips red and walked into town for a much overdue chocolate fix. I don't normally put myself through the torture of Starbucks ques (what do they do, run to Brazil and fetch the coffee beans?!) but this craving overruled my impatience and one bluberry muffin & cream frappachino later I felt immediately lifted and walked home with a skip in my step through the spring sunshine. Many more outfit posts to come now i'm not hibernating in wife beaters and boys boxer shorts watching re-runs of jersey shore.
What did all you lovlies get up to on easter weekend? x

All items from Topshop.

There's truly nothing more distracting and grade lowering than having the internet at your fingertips during french lectures, and as much as I rely on my phone (although I do prefer my red mock croc filofax to organise life the traditional way), I have really had to cut down on how much I decide to enter the virtual wonders of Topshop whilst my teacher drills french politics into my head. But it's not all at a loss, these items would be perfect for my week ahead, cocktails with the girlfriends, dinner on the patio and walking along the city streets at night in the break of spring. These items boast a plethorum of gentle tones, light mesh fabrics and silk mixed with a heavy knit (my most loved combination.) My first item from here to go from wishlist to checkout will be the mesh maxi skirt, which I plan to wear with a mens vintage t-shirt, silver costume jewllery and if the weather permitts it, bare legs and gladiator sandals. Hope your having the best possible start to your week!

The pace has slowed down somewhat since my previously frantic updates and I've found the most calming of remedies is to venture through the woods with my camera and soothing music blasting into my ears. I know this is a lacking fashion/outfit post but I just had to share my journey through the freak weather that's been sweeping through town. We are currently situated under a cocktail of sea mist and think fog, making it near impossible to navigate the simplest of journeys. As well as being slightly nerving and making me feel like I'm starring in 'Twilight' every time I venture through the woods, I'm enjoying the sense of adventure it brings immensely. Although, if you can't take long walks through the woods and drive along endless stretches of fog to release your anxiety's, let this take you away from hectic schedules and blackberry calenders for just 5 minutes .
ps. better/more outfit posts to come when my god damn SLR charger decides to emerge from its' hiding place.

Trilby: Vintage, Leggings: Topshop, Necklace: Silverado, Costume Rings: Vintage, Scalf/Shawl: H&M

Apologies first for the lack of outfit posts, the half asleep expressions on my face in these pictures (I'm not giving you all evils, honest) and my ridiculously messy kitchen. Over the past week or so, I've been on a constant hunt to discover more hours in a day, after finding that 24 just simply isn't enough. With exams looming and life kicking into full action something had to give, and as you might be able to tell, sleep, cleaning kitchens and scheduling a hair cut got the boot. Dressing to impress is also low down on the list, and slouchy grey crop tops, leather leggings and large mens trilby's to cover very dodgy hair has become a uniform. Of course I have to put a little effort in somewhere, so 4inch studded stilettos come grocery shopping with me (more pictures of the shoes later, they deserve a post of their own) Everytime I look down at my well dressed feet, I feel reassured that I havn't lost the will to dress.

Bassike oversized tee, Sass & Bide draped jacket & frilled body suit, H&M shorts, Acne boots, Proenza Schouler tote, cats necklace.

Some of the items from my Spring wish list, a slight idealistic view of what my wardobe will look like, but the general gist is there. I always like dressing for the transistion into spring, that glorious moment of realisation that you can indeed go tightless and leave that winter knit that accompanied you lovingly throughout the Winter at home.  I realise that we’re theoretically meant to fill our wardrobes with spring hues and pastel shades whilst the spring violently elbows out the bitter cold winter, but due to the 90’s and grunge revival currently captivating the a/w runways, I’m inspired by a more sombre colour pallet of greys and blacks shown in the items above. So yes, the winter collections are inspiring my summer wardrobe, confusing non?

Marc Jacobs all F/W 2010 via TFS

These were probably my favorite looks from NYFW, all these collections just make me lust for winter all over again, typical. Bring on London.
Which were your most loved?

Farm Life.

Dress: Ebay find, Necklace: Miss Selfridge, Hat: H&M
I'm so sorry for my ridiculously long hiatus, I have no excuses apart from the old classic 'life has been getting in the way' of doing any sort of blogging over the past month, but I'm back now & can't wait to make up for lost time. As you can see, I went out to the countryside today for some sunshine and fresh air (my minds gone into summer mode already) and it most certainly confirmed what I already knew, me and nature do not get along. After clogging up my new shoes with mud, throwing myself around attempting to avoid swooping birds, and almost bursting into tears whilst being cornered by an angry gang of swans, I hastily drove back home, where I had Chinese, watched gossip girl and only came into contact with any sort of wildlife whilst watching 'Pet Rescue' on the television, oh I am definitely a city girl.
Apart from obviously hiding a multitude of hair sins and reducing 'getting ready time' to a minimum, this hat has been on my head for at least the last fortnight, and I am still not ready to take it off. I don't think I've ever particularly had the confidence to wear hats, but after braving the streets in my extreme hand made pom-pom hats over the Christmas period, I'm ready to try anything.

Images from weheartit and flickr, im once again without sources but if you have a problem with your image being here I will happily remove it, likewise with crediting! Sorry for my general lousiness!
I hope it's not too premmature to start looking forward to the new season (given that it's still January, whoops), but the sun came out for the first time in what felt like forever this afternoon and it gave me a desperate urge to look for sun drenched photos and pretty people prancing around lavender fields with a golden skin. Go away Winter, we're bored with you now.
